Google’s Webmaster Central YouTube channel is one of the most watched YouTube channels by webmasters, internet and search engine marketers, over the years its provided a number of valuable search marketing videos. Most of the videos are uploaded by Google’s Matt Cutts who answers user questions on search engine marketing.
Now, Google is calling webmasters and search engine marketers to provide useful content based videos based on their SEO strategies and search marketing expertise for possible inclusion on the Webmaster Central YouTube Channel.
– According to the Google team 3-5 minutes is ideal, a short video is a good way to showcase your use of – for example – Top Search Queries, but not long enough to highlight your whole SEO strategy.
– Focus on a real-life example of how you used a particular feature. For example, you could show how you identified broken links to correct your 404 errors or crawl errors to diagnose problems with your site structure. Do you have a great tip or recommendation?
The search videos should be white hat search engine optimisation tips, strategies, tactics and recommendations.
Google’s Webmaster Central YouTube channel is already a great resource for search marketing tips and advice. This initiative should only increase the value of that resource. The idea is to make help centre more community driven and interesting to users alongwith the credibility and authority stamp of being on the official Google channel.
This is an ideal opportunity for you to drive traffic to your website or blog, if selected Google will give full credits to your video.
To submit videos, go to the help center and submit it through the Help Center gadget. There is a full list of guidelines that goes beyond the short version listed above.

Michael Wyszomierski announced at the Google Webmaster Central blog that they are looking for the SEO and Webmaster community to create videos that they can share in the Google Webmaster YouTube channel.

This should be interesting. For one, a lot of people can get really great tips on how to use the Google Webmaster tool. Another good thing about it is that Google can improve their free tools depending on the entries which will be sent in by hundreds of webmasters.

I especially think this is a great idea since they are encouraging people to use real-life examples because how can you trust someone’s SEO knowledge if they have not used it in their real life?
You will need to show results from your SEO efforts in terms of charts and figures in the video. The exposure form this will be great for your site, you ll also be a valuable SEO expert if your video is choosen

This is new thing for me but google always brgins something unique and advantageous. So i have to try this one.
It is a great opportunity to get some links and authority. As long as your topic is on white hat SEO, and something that is not run of the mill, you should have a very good opportunity to get some good mileage for your endeavours on Webmastyer Central Channel.

Really cool deal that Google is extending out to others on youtube, I bet there are some that have their mind spinning as a way to get them noticed, hehe. I was surprised they didn’t say anything in regards to if people are able to give themselves a plug, like a watermark on the video, or that sort of thing.
