Social Media Logos

We are always looking for ways to improve our marketing campaigns on social media websites. There is one important factor that, we, at times, neglect and this is why we don’t get the results we look for. This important factor is known as “Logo Design”.

Your logo will be on your website and it will give your business a face through which you will be recognized. So, when people will see your logo on social media sites, they will be able to associate you with your company instantly. Those who neglect this important marketing factor can’t really enjoy the power of this highly effective medium.

Secondly, those who don’t know you (I am talking about your target market here), when they will see your logo on social media websites, your high quality logo will entice them to learn more about your business.

Having said that, let’s now briefly discuss the role of a logo design in social media marketing:

Your Logo Design Promotes Your Business Silently Yet Powerfully:

How do you expect your market to know that a certain video was uploaded by you? Or, you are active on a particular social networking site? In every video or conversation, you can’t introduce yourself and your business. So, it’s your logo design that does the promotion for you silently and effectively.

Your Logo Design Prevents You from Becoming a Spammer:

A lot of people join social media sites just to post links to different products. They do it because they fail to create an impressive brand image and all they care about is bringing some traffic to their website by posting links everywhere. An effective logo design clearly depicts your business model. If it’s designed professionally and attractively, people (yes, your target audience) will automatically take interest in it and would love to learn more about your company and products. So, you won’t have to spam.

Your Logo Design Tells Your Market How Professional You Are:

Ok, so, you have posted a video and you want your target market to watch it. If it’s from someone ‘anonymous’ everyone may not take interest in it. However, if your logo design, a high quality logo design , is prominent on the same page then people will know whom it’s from. See, your market can’t see you physically online. When they will look at your logo, they will begin to imagine how you may be. If they will like the logo, they will like you and, thus, will take interest in your communication as well as products.

Your Logo Design Ends Confusion on Social Media Websites:

When you create a fan page, you will be able to tell your market that it’s the official fan page of your company (some unethical competitors tend to create fake pages too). Your logo design with a link to your website will help you win the trust of your market and divert targeted traffic to your business website.

So…These are some of the powerful things a logo design can do on social media sites. So, do not neglect them. If you don’t have a logo, get one as soon as possible.

    Interesting Exercise:

Look at the sea of logos and see which one jumps out at you. I’d bet that most people see the same one.

logo is something that can describe everything of your website without crawling every page that has useful info regarding your website

  • Uzi July 20, 2010, 9:56 pm

Logo should be relevant to your industry. You cannot just copy the idea from any website and try to get it work for yours.

How about changing logos? although big companies have been changing their logos in the past.

  • Ben July 21, 2010, 1:24 am

@Uzi> Changing Logo and the design campaign helps companies to re-build their brand. If any company thinks that their brand and sales productivity’s graph going below to average then they usually re-vamp their design campaign, it gives their a new look and a new identity and boost in their targeted market.
Mostly it works, but the new design has to be better than the last one. Sometime companies just re-design their logos because of the compatibility issues, like any old company who had an old fashion print friendly Logo, but they are now looking to launch their website and want to get some extra exposure over the web so they have to design a new Logo according to the new web 2.0 trends and fashion. Hope you got the Answer.

Having a good logo design is very important for branding and to make you look professional. People will remember your site from your logo.

I do agree, I think a lot of the problematic accounts I see on Twitter or on FB include people that start up something only to abondon it within two or three months because they expected instant ROI. Twitter didn’t just ‘become’ the next big thing, it was a really slow build up. Same with all the social media sites and their fan bases…they came because of the sense of online community, not because they were interested in ad space.

I don’t know why people thinks that via social media they will get sale leads and they tries to pitch directly by any live chat or messaging feature, Instead of that you should communicate personally with your targeted niches, offer them a quality content and any other help they requires like some one is asking any question in his status bar and looking to get responses, just respond to him in a manner. Following and Interacting with people results people will follow you back. Jumping back to the topic that when you start a business and got an attractive logo, don’t expect things($) instantly, just use the social media sites to expand the list of your targeted people and let them know by using you Logo and color themes that you are professionals, and whenever they need a services related to you they will definitely come to you.

Good points, with so many competing sites it’s an advantage to be instantly recognisable… it doesn’t have to cost the earth either, there are quite a few free logo makers out there …

  • Dany Event Planning July 23, 2010, 10:26 pm

I need a recommendation for a good company/site to design a logo for a professional association. The logo would be used for web site, stationery, stamp etc. Ideally, I do not have big budget and am looking for reasonable cost
