Apple shells out $700,000 for Tim Cook’s security

Tim Cook the man behind the most valuable brand Apple is no less valuable – Apple thinks he’s of great value not in terms of being paid as Apple’s CEO but in terms of being protected as Apple’s CEO.

According to the leak by PatentlyApple, the company in 2015 spent close to $700,000 on Tim Cooks security. The details were a part of Apple’s Schedule 14A filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on March 10. The amount via security expenses were $699.133.

Apple considers the security amount to be reasonable and a necessary expense for the benefit of the company.

But how does this amount compare to some of the other big brands ?

According to Gizmodo, for the security of their CEO’s corporate America spent

$1.6 million for CEO Jeff Bezos of Amazon
$1.5 million for (former) Oracle CEO Larry Ellison
$584,075 for Disney CEO Bob Iger
$385,606 for Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffet
$320,428 for FedEX CEO Fred Smith

Compared to the rest of the CEO’s the security spend for Tim Cook seems very reasonable indeed
