New Facebook Timeline Profile – How to Enable it Now

A few simple steps mentioned below will help you enable the Facebook Timeline feature for your profile. It’s one of the new features and it’s awesome 🙂

Follow the instructions carefully to enable it for your profile.

Step 1:
– Go to the Facebook developer page and make sure you are logged into your facebook account. Follow this link to get started.

Step 2:
– Click Allow when you reach the below screen

Step 3:
– Click create a new app


Step 4:

Name the App Display name and the App namespace, it does not matter what name you give, its just for you to get authenticated with the developer platform. Click on the I agree box and Continue.

Step 5:
Once you’ve click on Continue you’ll reach the below screen – Click on Open Graph on the left hand side.


Step 6:

– You’ll see the next screen titled – Get Started with Open Graph, fill in anything under action and object and click on Get Started

Step 7:
– Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click save changes and next

Step 8:
– Wait for a few seconds when you come to the below screen and then go to your Facebook homepage, where you’ll be invited to enable the timeline.

Step 9:
– When you go to your facebook page you’ll see the below page – Click get it Now and you are done

Once you configure the above steps, you should have the new Facebook Timeline profile for your account. You can play around with it and fiddle with the features. Let us know when you enable it.

Trying it doesn't really make that much sense since you and your 'fellow' devs are the only ones who can see this. Also this is going to be made available shortly. Regardless of that, I still tried it myself and I know some of you still will. :)

Inspite of it that i don't want to enable it but i have read your post and learn all this process, how to enable it may be in future i feel i should enable it. These kind of technical things should be discussed from all blogger and should keep in mind that your post should be easier as possible (like your post) that people may learn from it.

I only knew about the facebook timeline because of my friend's FB status. Looks like they are integrating features of some popular sites that I personally think makes Facebook a bit complicated. Now, we could actually have a plurk style concept on our Facebook account. Anyway, I will follow your steps and try this to my own FB account. Thanks!
