“I don’t care too much for money, money can’t buy me love” – a line from the legendary Beatles song “Can’t buy me love” was recorded in 1964.
But the debate – “Can money by Happiness” has been ongoing for a longer time.
Are you happy when you buy things for yourself ? What happens when you buy things for others, does the happiness quotient increase or decrease ? … Money can’t buy you love, can it or make you happy?
Micheal Norton, a professor of psychology presents a very interesting experiment about how we feel when we buy and spend.
Through this interesting Ted Talk he tries to answer some of the questions on money and happiness.
Very interesting quotes from the talk,
“The specific way that you spend on other people isn’t nearly as important as the fact that you spend on other people.”
“Spending on other people has a bigger return for you than spending on yourself.”
What are your thoughts, Can money buy happiness ? Are you happy when you spend on yourself or when you spend on others ? Is happiness the key to life?
Have a Happy Sunday and a great week ahead 🙂
