Google was meant to be an Online Pizza Delivery Idea

No….it’s not a headline to capture your attention. It’s a fact.

Not a lot of us know this, when Larry Page & Sergey Brin started their online idea, it was meant to be an online Pizza delivery service.

They set up the platform with contact details of a couple of pizza joints ( ie. name, telephone and fax numbers ) and coded the site to send orders via an internet to fax service.

Holy …you read it right. Thankfully that idea did not go far and they moved on to create Google.

This was revealed by Rick Klau of Google Ventures who posted a video of Google’s co-founder, Sergey Brin’s speech at Google Ventures CEO Summit.

Watch the video it’s really inspiring.

Bottom Line: Failure leads to success. Fail often 🙂

Never heard of this story before. Sony, too, started as a small company (I think it was radios?) but now look at it. Well, I'm glad they ditched the pizza idea. Google rocks!

I don't think that it is a coincidence but many famous things have crazy beginnings. Let us take the example of Samsung, the smartphone giant which has the past of making noodles :D
