10 Tips on How to Create Viral Videos

The Internet practically made everything possible. With the Internet, the playing field between large multinational corporations and small and medium scale businesses have been leveled – at least when it comes to marketing.

Of the many marketing strategies and techniques the Internet has provided, video marketing seems to have the greatest potential. Video marketing is indeed a revolutionary way of marketing a business and in these days when article marketing’s viability is being questioned; video marketing seems to be a good alternative.

Hence, below are ten tips on how you can create viral videos for marketing purposes.

Tip 1: Quality doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to hire professional videographers

In order for videos to have a chance to be viral, they should exhibit quality, meaning to say; videos should be well lighted and not be blurry. Nevertheless, that doesn’t mean that you need to hire the services of a professional videographer. Homemade is fine as long as quality is achieved.

Tip 2: The entire video should not be longer than two minutes – be concise and straight to the point

There’s no exact formula on the right length of a video but several surveys with viral and popular videos on YouTube show that the most watched videos are those that are less than two minutes.

Some might argue that it’s virtually impossible to bring a point in less than two minutes and they may be right but as per the term viral, videos should be made as concise and as straight to the point as possible.

Tip 3: Your video’s description should be clear – what is it about?

The description of your video also plays an important role in attracting viewers. Thus, it’s imperative that your video’s description be clear. It should contain the synopsis of your video as well as a brief background regarding its relevance.

Tip 4: Experiment on uploading a series of related videos to build anticipation and gain loyal viewers

Starting a string of related videos or simply a series can work wonders for your marketing agenda. You can easily build anticipation and gain loyal viewers by uploading videos related to one another.

Tip 5: Display your expertise; highlight your strengths

When shooting a video for marketing purposes, it’s essential that you display your expertise and highlight your strengths. Viewers should see you as a professional expert who knows what he’s talking about – not a know-it-all jerk.

Tip 6: Learn to “talk” to your audience – converse in a personal and friendly manner

Learning how to “talk” to your audience is an asset when you’re using videos for marketing purposes. Know how to converse in a personal and friendly manner. Use simple words and don’t confuse viewers with jargons and technical terms.

Tip 7: Don’t forget to promote your videos using social media

Promoting your videos using social media is another important part of making your videos viral. Facebook and Twitter are among the best platforms from which you can promote your videos.

Tip 8: Content may not be able to make your videos viral but it will drive people to your website

Like it or not, content isn’t king when it comes to videos. But that doesn’t mean that you should not focus on the content of your video, good quality and relevant content may not be pre requisites to making your videos viral but content certainly has the ability to drive people to your website.

Tip 9: Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for videos

SEO isn’t just about article marketing. The principles of SEO also apply to video marketing. If you’re not incorporating keywords and target phrases to your videos, you’re simply missing a huge opportunity.

Tip 10: Be Persistent

Face it, not all videos are destined to be viral and 99 out of a hundred will not even reach 1,000 views that’s why it’s important to be consistent with your video marketing campaign. Upload videos regularly, no one knows what the next viral video is or when will it arrive.

Not all content can be viral. It is probably a good idea to choose witch topics you want to try to og viral on and witch you want to use for information. And SEO for the videos are also important. Linking all your videos together is important as I understand, this will make the videos turn up in the "related" section..
