When we listen to the word tablet, the first word that rushes to our minds is the IPad. Apple has surpassed consumer expectation in every field, be it the invention of the IPod, Iphone or the IPad, our mind has learned to synchronize Apple with any word that relates to technology.
In the midst of vicious competition Microsoft decided to surge in the market with one of its own creations, the tablet “Surface”. The question that arises is if it can compete with the IPad?
With all the given speculation and Microsoft’s own explanation of the product it definitely seems attractive and something that would give competition to its rival, the IPad.
Installed with Windows 8, Microsoft’s new tablet has every possible technology and innovation present. It’s built is a 10.6 inch screen with high-definition aimed towards giving its consumers impeccable view.
Apart from this Microsoft’s Surface has a USB port and an HDMI output port as well, these two elements aren’t present in the IPad and might be a key difference between both available technologies.
To make typing easier and increase convenience, Microsoft has also launched a Type Cover, a screen protector that withholds a small keyboard and track pad just like that of a laptop.
In terms of specs Microsoft has combined the best of technology. With an Intel 22 nm Ivy Bridge chipset the Surface has a battery life of 42 Wh. It has various network port-keys, having a microSD, USB and Micro HD port the Surface tablet combines every possible feature of laptop connectivity into itself.
Apart from this the memory comprises of 64 GB and exceeds up to 128 GB. When you buy the Surface tablet you’ll be given a Pen and both Touch and Type Covers to make the Surface adjust to your preferred convenience.
With the invention of the Surface Tablet, Microsoft has turned the stakes a bit higher. Although many other tablets have entered the market that aimed to compete with the IPad such as Samsungs Galaxy Tab and HTC’s Flyer, they still haven’t created a deep impact in the market of Tablets.
No product has risen to the impeccable glory withheld by the IPad but consumers and analysts are deeply considering this proposition.
Although Microsoft still hasn’t given a price and a sale date, Surface tablet is expected to be in the markets around fall and range in the same price league as the IPad.
As every Tablet has its personal advantages, Surface has its own range of advantages that coordinate with Windows technology; the Skype talk application and the Kinetic motion sensor are two basic examples.
Apple’s IPad is linked to entertainment and used in homes or for personal entertainment. Microsoft on the other hand is expected to venture in the business markets, the Surface tablet is expected to be an aid for entrepreneurs and working classes. Easier and more convenient than a laptop, the Tablet would aim to suffice instead of it.
Considering the fact that Surface doesn’t have a camera but is expected to be completely efficient with Microsoft Office tools and software’s as well as the rubber-keyboard we can expect this device to cater to markets that look for easier and quick hardware’s to make work easier.
In the race for technology and winning consumers with impeccable design and ideas, Apple has been on top for nearly a decade but maybe now a different arena is in the surrounding. As it’s competitors aim to rush to the top with their own ideas, consumers are confused in determining who the king of all jacks is.
