Write a Sales Letter in an Hour or Less

My buddy James Foster made a very simple video for readers of this blog. He gives a quick run down on how you can write an effective sales letter in less than an hour. He takes you through four big buckets that you need to know while writing sales letters.

As an internet marketing video blogger James Foster is helping people live the internet lifestyle by providing valuable (and actionable) content.

This video has some valuable tips and action points on how sales letters can help you make money for your products and services.

Thank you James for doing this special video for the readers of this blog 🙂

Swiping is the secret weapon of all good copy writers, so I hear. If the offer is the second most important thing, after the headline, why not put the offer right after the headline? Then the bullets, which are just offer benefits. That should cut down on the time even more. Have you ever tried this?
James Foster November 30, 2010 - 6:42 pm
It depends on the market Kai. In markets like Internet Marketing and Make Money Online you CAN talk about the offer right after the headline... In fact some of us even talk about the offer IN the headline. Something like... "Would You Give Me $25 If I Can Guarantee You Make $1,000 In The Next 30 Days" ...Can be very effective if you know you can back up the offer. -James

Thanks for the answer, James. That makes some sense. So, it seems that when money is directly involved, the offer can come in right away. Else, your clients need to warm up to the idea of spending money. I wonder if price plays a role to; the instant offer working better for a low cost item.
James Foster November 30, 2010 - 7:11 pm
Yes and no Kai... Like I said, if you can back up the offer, it will work in basically any niche. So if you were in the fitness market (with a $97 product) you could do something like ... "If You Can't Get Washboard Abs Using My System In 30 Days or Less - I'll Give You $200 Out Of My Own Pocket" That would include the offer and the guarantee in the headline, and as long as your product delivers, you won't get many refunds (In all honesty, you won't get many refunds anyways because most people are to lazy to ask for a refund). So that's in a fitness example, but to get back to your question, money doesn't play much of a role. If I said "Will you Give me $2,000 If I Show You How To Make $100,000" you'd still get a lot of takers because that's still a great ROI. -James
