Although blogging may seem to be extremely simple and easy, there are some common errors that most bloggers commit every now and then. Given below are some of the mistakes that are committed while blogging and some useful tips on how to avoid them.
1) Clarity of Thought:
– One of the primary errors that most bloggers commit is not getting a clear idea about their audience and what exactly they are looking for. Even though they may have excellent knowledge about the topic, connecting with the audience is extremely important as far as blogging is concerned.
2) Inconsistency in publishing:
– Inconsistency is yet another error which most bloggers normally commit as far as publication and quality is concerned. It is important to create and follow a clear publication schedule that will ensure that inconsistency does not happen often.
3) Quality Content:
– Never focus on quantity as quality is of utmost importance not quantity. If you do not keep up the quality of your blog and only focus on quantity, there is every chance that your blog will not be appreciated.
4) Write for your readers:
– Never write for yourself. Remember that you need to write for your audience and ensure that it is valuable material that the audience will appreciate.
5) too much writing about self:
– Do not write too much about yourself. No one likes reading too much about you unless you are a celebrity. Make sure you pen down something interesting that will draw the attention of your readers.
6) Catchy headlines:
– If the titles are not attractive, your readers may not be tempted to read the blog. So ascertain that your titles are attractive and compelling which will make the readers take a second look at your blog.
7) Be less salesy
Talking only about your product, your company and services is another major mistake that bloggers normally commit. The first step is to include how to or tips and then how your products can be useful in addressing problems effectively.
8) Listen and reply readers:
– Not responding to reader’s comments is once again another common mistake committed by most bloggers. It is imperative you take enough time to respond and interact with your readers to build a good relationship with them.
9) Promote, promote, promote:
– Most bloggers do not take enough effort for promotion of their own content. The trick lies in not going overboard but at the same time promoting your own content enough.
10) Interact with fellow bloggers:
– Bloggers mostly never join a blog community which is another blunder they often commit.
11) Share experience with fellow bloggers:
– It is important that you share your experience and expertise with other bloggers that is extremely necessary in order to boost your reputation and credibility. This is not something that most bloggers do.

My blog is about the dreams I have when I sleep. It’s a topic rarely blogged about, but it is entirely about myself in a way. I do have a couple of informational posts prepared to post in the future, but for the most part this blog is about my dreams.
Any suggestions on how to change things up to focus on my readers as much as myself?
Either way, thanks for the tips.
Hi ZK
Thanks for sharing such a wonderful article here with us.
Actually these are those mistakes which almost every blogger do.
I had also did so many mistakes like copying articles from other blogs.
I can remember those days when I was very much new to this blogging world and I purchased a domain name without thinking about the niche of the blog.
I purchased the domain name and then I thought that On which topic, I should make my website then I thought that I’ll create an another Wikipedia.. Haha lol
And I started copying articles from Wikipedia. After putting efforts so many days, When I saw that no result is coming out then I decided that I’ll make a top 10 lists site where I can list top 10 things of every topic and again I started copying articles from a site named Listverse.
I did like this till 7-8 months because I was very much new to all this things and I even don’t have any experience of writing articles. My English was also not good.
Haha I know It still not good But currently I am able to write few lines But at that time, It was so difficult for me.
I did copy pasting till 7-8 months and when I noticed that I am just wasting my time and nothing then I started finding the reason behind not getting traffic on my site.
Then somewhere I found my mistake i.e. Copying articles from other site.
On that day, I learnt that Google never ranks copied articles.
So I made a decision that I’ll never copy any article and will write article myself.
In starting days, It was so difficult for me to write an article. I first write article on my notebook and then later type in WordPress.
After doing this few days, I tried writing directly in WordPress and any how I completed my first article in WordPress. Later I continuously did practice and it became common and easy for me.
Now I am complete able to write in WordPress directly because Practice makes perfect. Right? 😀
There are also so many mistakes which I am still making which you have listed in this article and I am trying my best to stop doing those mistakes.
Thanks for sharing such a great piece of content with us.
Happy Blogging 😉
