Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs, the man who inspired many entrepreneur, developed and re-shaped the dynamic of four industries – computing, music, movies and mobile and created an all new one – tablets – stepped down as CEO Apple on 24 th August.

The resignation letter from Steve Jobs himself:

To the Apple Board of Directors and the Apple Community:

I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.

I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.

As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.

I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.

Steve

He was often called a showman, born seller, magician, dreamer and a perfectionist. In 2009 Fortune magazine named him the CEO of the decade, for a lot of us he would be CEO of the century.

Steve Jobs Standford Commencement Speech in 2005 has been inspiring for not only students but also entrepreneurs and CEO. In the speech he urges graduates to follow their dreams and makes some of the most pivotal points in his life. It’s the best fourteen minutes of time you can invest to understand the thought of a marketing genius.

Lets hope Apple is able to create innovative and break though products like they have done for the last three decades.

Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish.

I’m personally not a fan of apple products (although definitely not a hater) but obviously Jobs has lots of things to inspire us.

I hope his resignations can make him focus on his health more.

Steve Jobs will always remain the pillar for Apple. Even if he has resigned as CEO, expect him to climb up the stage on big unveils and be the master presenter himself. There’s nobody that presents new Apple products better than Jobs.

Although I’m not an Apple fanboy, I must admit that Steve Jobs is one of the brightest business minds and a tech visionary. I’m sure he still has some aces up his sleeve. Just because he’s not CEO anymore, it doesn’t mean he’s not the key man at Cupertino !
