Let’s take a look at some internet marketing strategies today. Specifically email marketing strategies. Now, wouldn’t you just love to have a list of email subscribers who are actively responding to your email marketing campaigns?
A dream come true? Definitely. Probably won’t happen to you? That’s where you may be wrong. It’s an achievable dream… though you’ll need to put in some efforts, of course. But it’ll be worth it. Just read on.
Most people I know want to have such a successful email marketing list. What better way to market your business (online or offline) and stay connected with your client or prospects. In this internet age, the phrase “out of sight, out of mind” rings ever so true! But what is stopping them from building this list is that they are confused and unsure of how and what to do. So here’s sharing some secrets to building a successful email marketing list.
Giveaways, Giveaways, Giveaways
Giveaways is a magic formula to build your list and a good way to persuade people to sign up to your email list. It does not need to be something expensive. In fact, it could cost you nothing but still be appreciated by your readers, like a free download (music, videos, games, e-books) or certain privileges (access to a “subscribers-only” part on your website) in exchange for their signing up for your email listing.
Ease Of Sign-ups
Make it easier for your readers to sign up to your email listing. Aweber makes it extremely easy to sign up and convert more subscribers to your list. An Aweber opt-in forms on your homepage and one at the side bar will see high subscribers to your list. This way, even if your visitors land on one of your pages other than your homepage, they would still notice that you offer email subscription.
This blog uses Aweber very effectively to build an effective mailing list, you can see the opt in form on the side bar as well as an opt in hover on the pages, making it easy for users to sign up.

Do Not Spam
Some people confessed to me that they dislike using their contacts to build an email list. When pressed further, they told me that they feel like spammers when they do so. Yes, we all hate spammers. But there’s a difference between spamming and an email marketing list. And that’s asking for permission.
Even though you are convinced that your contacts would very likely want to be in your email list, you still need to ask them for permission. Just send them a short message about this email list that you are constructing and the type of information that would be included in the emails.
Give them the option whether they want to be included in the email listing. Most people are more likely to accept information if they had willingly requested for it rather than to be forced to. And they are less likely to unsubscribe from your email listing.
Value Subscribers’ Privacy
Another concern of subscribers is privacy or the lack of it. So do have a short note to convince your would-be subscribers that you will never use their information for purposes other than your email list and will never divulge them to any third parties without prior consent.
Building a trusting relationship with your subscribers would reduce the likelihood of them unsubscribing later. And over time, they would trust you enough to continuously purchase goods or services from you.
Write Interesting Emails
After building the email list, it is also important to focus on your email contents. In order to maintain interest of your subscribers to stay subscribed, include information that you are sure the majority would like to have ie. a special offer or useful tips. Be creative and you would be in your subscribers’ good books and persuade them to stay signed-up to your email list!
This list is by no means exhaustive. There are many other ways to build an email marketing list. But these are some of the methods that I find most effective and you can start using them immidiatly.
You see, it’s not so much about how you build the email list but rather what the list can do for you. So building a good marketing list is just as important as designing a good website for your business. It may take a little extra effort and time in the beginning but when you have a powerful list up and running, you will see your business expand exponentially.

E mail marketing is a boom of this generation, will convert more people in to sales.
All we need to ensure is to build a powerful niche E mail subscribers and produce a killer newsletter through it.
If we provide good informations over blog posts that turn people eyes to subscribe, we can aggregate readers in to our list.
Aweber is a good initiation for this.
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with sending recommendations to your email list and actually if you don’t send any they will wonder whats up with you. But of course some find it difficult to write those emails as well as come up with great gifts to giveaway so for them it would be wise to use a service that sets all that up for you 😉
Mailing at a regular frequency is a good option to connect with your community. Like you mentioned you don’t want your readers to figure out where you’ve disappeared 🙂
Its always good to build newsletters based on what the readers are looking for. The one tip from me would be to ask your readers from time to time what they are looking for in the newsletter apart from your blog posts. Nice write up and tips on email marketing campaigns.
Newsletters are a good communication channel with your readers and subscribers. Yes, we can always ask them for suggestions on blog post topics, or even for freebies they have in mind.

Feedburner is great for a start. But for more features and control it’s best to use a premium email list service such as Aweber.

Marketing affiliate products via email has the best conversion rates, its turned bloggers into millionaires. It works well when you have a large mailing list, every subscriber counts…The secret to building a large email list is to get started early and keep working hard to build a loyal following.
Some good advice as I’m looking to get started on building a list. What plugin do you use on the right of the pages please to get sign-ups?
I think ZK uses Aweber? That’s a really good email marketing service.
Emails are still prominent in people’s lives and it is possible to prove those wrong who think they are getting spam mail when they receive our emails. However, it is clearly not easy to create an email that will trigger a positive reaction just by the subject line and the first sentence or two. Your tips are useful, indeed! I will forward them to my writing team to enhance their skills in this area. They are falling short of good ideas that will be unique, persuasive, and friendly at the same time.
Thank you for sharing all these great tips! Leonard
