Facebook Founder & CEO Mark Zuckerberg gave an in-depth interview with Tim O’Reilly and Federated Media’s John Battelle this week at the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco. He talks about a number of interesting things happening at Facebook, new product launches including the latest Facebook email product, privacy issues and much more.
He also reveals that Facebook now has 250 million daily active users and has become the third-highest valued Internet company in US.
Grab a cup of coffee, you don’t want to miss this.

Mark needs some lesson in speaking on public forums ..happy for facebook :)….btw the twitter counter is not updating on this post..
Thanks, I noticed the problem ..I’ve sent a mail to tweetmeme
This interview is quite interesting but I still think that facebook messages are not going to end Gmail. People will still keep using the mail anyway.
Email will not die 🙂 , I am happy someone is giving Google a run
Gmail is surely not gonna end…but FB is getting so so much popular that its gonna give a tough competition to gmail 😀
I read an article a bit ago that said that most students entering college think email is archaic. I hope it isn’t going by the way side. I had one client who did nothing but text and wouldn’t pick up the phone or email. it was so annoying. What could have taken 5 minutes ended up taking hours. and nothing really got accomplished.
Mark Zuckerberg is a very intelligent man, not only did he create the worlds most popular social network but he donates some money to needy organizations. He recently donated around 1 million dollars to the newark nj school board.
And created a giant of a network in less than 5 years
He actually donated $100 million not 1.
i am really impressed with mark’s works. i am not one of those who are willing to have his babies but i love the guy. so intelligent, smart and he’s a philanthropist too.
lol..nice one…
“i am not one of those who are willing to have his babies but i love the guy”…
He also did a cool conference via Facebook livestream. Where he answer questions about the new messaging system in facebook, emails and all that kind of stuff.
I think it’s kind of the same but condensed in a normal interview.
I also submitted for a beta invitation on facebook, and I am still waiting (beta for the messaging thingy)
nice one! Mark Zuckerberg the best 🙂
When the Facebook fever only started, I did not feel quite secure about this network. Very soon, however, I realized how powerful it is and invited all friends of mine to join it. Watching “The Social Network” was the last straw the broke all my hesitations.
As for bringing Gmail to an end – I don’t believe it and I appreciate everyone who shares this opinion. Facebook may use this advanced messaging system as a pleasant addon to its services but I don’t think it’s going to substitute Google in its business mailing capabilities, such as documents sharing for instance.
Facebook offering email services? Wow, this is interesting. So there will be “email wars” that we will be expecting anytime soon 😀
Facebook may be way overstated. The value seems to be a little ridiculous right now. I think it’s time to sell Mark.
I love facebook, but I think people are putting too much stock into it. It was meant to check up on your friends and keep in touch. Not SEO or marketing. It is good to brand yourself and put your stuff out there but nothing to rely in any fashion.
Facebook rocks..and so does Mark!
its certainly one ‘big thing’
love facebook, but I think people are putting too much stock into it. It was meant to check up on your friends really thanks
Two weeks ago I had watched “The Social Network ” movie which is the based upon the Mark Zuckerberg …. I think Mark Zuckerberg having much of innovative ideas
Hate to see Facebook suffer like what happen to Friendster.
He may be next world most rich person…
