Hush….
I’m going to show you how I grew my email list by 50% in 2 months. No, I didn’t buy any traffic neither did I do a JV swap with someone; all I did was just… Hmm… I won’t reveal anything yet– you’ll find out as we move on.
If you’re looking for ways to quickly build up your email newsletter, then check out the following checklist; I hope they’ll be able to answer the questions you have about list building.
-
1. Don’t be rude– give them a reason to sign up to your mailing list.
You need to earn the trust of your subscribers before you sell to them. Give them a reason for signing up to your email list. Saying ” Hey! Join my list” won’t do it. With rampant fraud on the rise these days’, people now treat their contact information very secretly.
If you want people to sign up to your mailing list, give them a good reason to do so.
Be polite in your emails, give them a free incentive and send them a ‘’thank you’’ message after they subscribe to your mailing list.
Hint: Assure them that their contact information is safe with you and tell them beforehand that you’ll be sending a series of email newsletters in the coming days and that they should expect it. This will give them an assurance that they’re dealing with the right person.
-
2. Make your incentive SUPER valuable and unique
Don’t try to bribe people to sign up for your newsletter by offering too many short reports. The fact that you have a bunch of short reports to give out doesn’t guarantee that people will sign up on your email list.
Hint: Do one thing at a time. Spend time in writing a short report or if you’re not good at writing, hire a ghost blogger.
Make your offer unique– let it encourage your prospects to refer their friends and colleagues
-
3. Become a town crier…
Yeah. I love this. Get the word out. Search for top newsletter directories and add yours appropriately.
Here are queries you can use to search for top newsletter directories online:
“Top Newsletter Directories”
“Newsletter Directories”
Just tweak the above to your taste and feel free to use them.
When you find a couple of newsletter directories, let people know that they can use your newsletter contents as long as it’ll be credited in your name.
Result: This will result to a large pile of traffic and subscribers to your mailing list.
-
4. Add your logo
Brand yourself– that’s the best way to single out yourself from the crowd.
If people are beginning to recognize your brand name, use your logo to brand your newsletter. Use it in your business cards, cup, or you can even make a T-shirt with your logo designed on it.
Hint: A client of mine added over a 100 new prospects to her email list by applying this tip.
-
5. Avoid over-using images
I always advise young and upcoming internet entrepreneurs not to use images in their email newsletters. Don’t get me wrong: I’m not saying you shouldn’t use images at all but it could a source of distraction.
Hint: Your subscribers are not interested in the beauty or design of your newsletter, what they’re only interested in is, (WIINFT) ‘’what is in it for them’’.
-
6. Adding a ‘’members only area’’ could boost your email list
I’m not trying to boast or show off myself–but a friend of mine added over 100 people to his mailing list by simply applying this tip. In fact, his success motivated me to add this tip in this article.
A ‘’members only area’’ is where your email subscribers can go back to get valuable courses, eBooks or short reports.
Hint: Be smart–make it free to subscribers. Offer quality incentives and watch your opt-in soar higher.
BTW: You could consider hiring a web designer to add this function to your pages
-
7. Give…
Givers will always rule in life.
If you don’t like giving or helping others, you can’t achieve much in life.
As an internet entrepreneur, make it a duty to give valuable things to your subscribers. Ask them how you can help– be useful to them– make them feel like ‘’ Oh! Anytime I have cash on me, I’ll buy any of this guys product”. Be helpful and your present subscribers will refer you their friends and colleagues.

Your audience loves freebies and so making your incentive super valuable and unique is what they like and want. It is also a technique of widening your customer base and morphing your readers into buying clients.
